Alstonefield is just a short drive (or reasonably long walk) away from the Barn at Ivy House Farm and is a good place to start a walk from as it has good parking with public loos.

Picturesque and with a good pub, Alstonefield is definitely worth a visit.

Longnor Village Review

I’ve just added a new page for the Peak District village of Longnor.

It’s well worth a visit, if only to use as a base to park your car and head out on one of the numerous walks around the Longnor area or to grab some delicious fish and chips from the shop on the corner of the Market Square.

If you take the quick route from the Barn to Buxton, you’ll pass through Longnor which is just 5 minutes away – it’s well worh stopping for a look around!

Hulme End Village Review

Hulme End is about a mile and a half from The Barn and is the closest place with a shop for papers, milk etc.
