There is a gravelled area in front of the barn with a table and chairs which gets early morning, late afternoon and evening sun - ideal for the provided barbecue.
We're aware that for those of you with young children, the gravelled area in front of the barn isn't ideal and so we're happy in most cases for children to play on our lawn.
As a point of safety, it is very important that you tell your children not to play next to or on the dry stone walls. By definition they are not bonded using mortar but simply layed stone on top of stone. They are extremely heavy and the result of a wall collapsing on a child does not bear thinking about. This of course applies throughout the Peak District when you are out walking - please take care!
