February got off to a bad start when we were informed by the two utility companies that they would not be connecting us for at least another month. This was inconvenient to say the least. We really needed to get the oak floor boards acclimatised and with freezing temperatures outside and only a small fan heater and dehumidifier inside running off a spur from the main house, there was no way we could take the risk of warping the wood.
Steve got on with plumbing in the ensuites, bathroom and heating system which with a few exceptions went reasonably smoothly. Meanwhile, Neil fitted lights, sockets and switches, etc. It was so frustrating having all the second fix services in place but no water and having to run anything electrical from one double socket and lots of extension leads!
